Gram’s Brisket

No life lessons over food today. Just Gram’s 3 ingredient brisket.

She would make two at a time and freeze one. That way there was always something good in the freezer, just in case her six kids brought friends home or my grandfather surprised her with clients for dinner.

1, 2-4 lb brisket
mustard – any kind
1 packet dry onion soup mix

Cover the brisket with mustard and the soup mix. Cover tightly with foil. Bake at 250 for 8 hours. image

  1. This is one of those family recipes that has become a favorite for so many of us. Interesting how ingredients we used years ago because they were cheap (wings-brisket-dried beef) now have become a whole new entity!

    1. I had no idea you were all making Gram’s brisket too! Add short ribs to that list of “used to be cheap.”

    1. I can’t make it overnight because the delicious aroma wakes us up and we need to taste test it in the middle of the night.
